Monday Mailbox

I was spoiled again! This week's mailbox arrivals:

Landline by Rainbow Rowell came from St. Martin's Press.

Rowell's YA books have been both hugely popular and caused controversy and I'm curious to see where she takes this adult novel about a woman who finds a way to communicate with her husband in the past even as their marriage seems to be faltering in the present.

Bee Summers by Melanie Dugan came from Upstart Press and TLC Book Tours for a blog tour.

About a young girl whose mother abandons her and her migratory beekeeper father, this look at childhood, innocence, and the people that shape you looks fantastic.

The Lady From Tel Aviv by Raba'i al-Madhoun came from Telegram.

An exiled Palestinian from Gaza and an Israeli actress meet on a flight home to Tel Aviv; how could this be anything but a story worth reading?!

Neverhome by Laird Hunt came from Little, Brown.

I'm fascinated by the women who chose to go off and fight in the Civil War and this novel about one such woman who left behind her husband to do so will be one more piece in the curious puzzle of this history.

The Blessings by Elise Juska came from Grand Central Publishing.

A novel about the repercussions on his extended family when a man dies, leaving behind his wife and two small children, I do love family sagas.

Last Night at the Blue Angel by Rebecca Rotert came from William Morrow and TLC Book Tours for a blog tour.

1960s Chicago and its jazz scene intertwined with the story of a talented singer and her ten year old daughter, this promises to be a heck of a read.

If you'd like to see the marvelous goodies in other people's mailboxes, make sure to visit Mailbox Monday and have fun seeing how we are all doing our part to keep the USPS and delivery services viable.

I have had to disable the anonymous comment option to cut down on the spam and I apologize to those of you for whom this makes commenting a chore. I hope you'll still opt to leave me your thoughts. I love to hear what you think, especially so I know I'm not just whistling into the wind here at my computer.
