Monday Mailbox

Nothing in the mailbox the week before last gave way to a few scrumptious looking books this past week. This past week's mailbox arrivals:

Lipstick in Afghanistan by Roberta Gately came from Gallery Books.
Afghanistan is certainly a timely setting these days but it still has the power to fascinate. And it's always curious to see the war-torn country and the lives of women there through the eyes of the West so this tale of a nurse who goes to Afghanistan to work promises to be fantastic.

Stay With Me by Sandra Rodriguez Barron came from Harper thanks to Trish at TLC Book Tours.
Five children found in a boat after a hurricane are raised as siblings despite the complete mystery surrounding their lives before the storm. Now adults, one of them has a brain tumor and the tumor is allowing him flashbacks to life before the boat. Doesn't that just sound delicious?

Salting Roses by Lorelle Marinello came from Avon thanks to Trish at TLC Book Tours.
Would you look at this gorgeous cover?! How many little girls dream that they are really a princess whose real parents will come to claim her someday? Well, Gracie isn't a princess but it turns out that she was kidnapped as a baby and she's an heiress. How she leanrs to navigate a life so different from the one in which she was raised should make for a terrific read.

As always, if you'd like to see the marvelous goodies in other people's mailboxes, make sure to visit Julie of Knitting and Sundries as she is hosting this month's Mailbox Monday and Kristi at The Story Siren who hosts In My Mailbox and enjoy seeing how we are all doing our part to keep the USPS and delivery services viable.

I have had to disable the anonymous comment option to cut down on the spam and I apologize to those of you for whom this makes commenting a chore. I hope you'll still opt to leave me your thoughts. I love to hear what you think, especially so I know I'm not just whistling into the wind here at my computer.
