Mailbox Monday

I cleaned off my desk this week and filing away the myriad stacks of books has made the small stack that came in my mailbox seem even smaller but at the risk of sounding like a broken record, this is a good thing for me. This past week's mailbox arrivals include:

Alice I Have Been by Melanie Benjamin came from the publisher via Shelf Awareness.
I am alternately fascinated and appalled by Lewis Carroll's relationship to the young girls in his life. This novelization of who Alice Liddell grew up to be intrigues me no end.

Seeing Things by Patti Hill is from the LibraryThing Early Reviewers prgram.
Each month I eagerly read through the listed offerings for the site, carefully consider which to request, and then cross my fingers that I will get lucky enough to win one or more of the chosen few. Some months I get nothing. This month I lucked out and got this one.

House and Home by Kathleen McCleary was a contest win from Book Club Classics.
Who doesn't love to win books? Especially really appealing books! I have spent my life moving around so might be the last person on earth to understand the tug of a house on a person's emotions except for the fact that my family has a cottage that has been in the family for almost 90 years and that small house is and always has been my anchor.

As always, if you'd like to see the marvelous goodies in other people's mailboxes, make sure to visit Marcia at The Printed Page and enjoy seeing how we are all doing our part to keep the USPS and delivery services viable.

I have had to disable the anonymous comment option to cut down on the spam and I apologize to those of you for whom this makes commenting a chore. I hope you'll still opt to leave me your thoughts. I love to hear what you think, especially so I know I'm not just whistling into the wind here at my computer.
