Awards!

I would hate for people to think I am completely ungrateful for the blog awards with which they have gifted me. But it probably seems that way since I have ignored any and all of them that have arrived since March. I just figured that any and all awards could be posted and re-bestowed at a later date but that later date never seemed to come along. Well, I've decided that it's time, especially since Book Blogger Appreciation Week is here. This is my way of recognizing some of the lovely blogs I read whether they are up for BBAW awards or not. If I haven't mentioned your blog here, it's likely I haven't discovered you yet so please leave me a comment and I'll happily come and read you. I've also not passed along awards I can't find rules for, so feel free to award them to yourself if you are so inclined. :-) And finally, many of the blogs I visit deserve more than one of these awards but I tried to spread the wealth a bit and only gave each one a single award. So if any award winners want more than one, have at it. You all deserve them! Here goes my rather extensive list of backlogged awards (and I do hope you'll visit and enjoy any and all of the blogs listed here):

From Yvonne at Socrates' Book Review, I received the Premio Dardos Award. This award acknowledges the the values that every blogger shows in his or her effort to transmit cultural, ethical, literary, and personal values every day.

The rules to follow are:

1) Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award and his or her blog link.

2) Pass the award to 15 other blogs that are worthy of this acknowledgment. Remember to contact the bloggers to let them know they have been chosen for this award.

My choices:

1. Welcome to the Hinterlands
2. Ms. Bookish
3. A Striped Armchair
4. Chaotic Compendiums
5. Tutu's Two Cents

From Wendy at Caribou's Mom, I received the Zombie Chicken Award. Here is what this award is all about:

“The blogger who receives this award believes in the Tao of the zombie chicken – excellence, grace and persistence in all situations, even in the midst of a zombie apocalypse. These amazing bloggers regularly produce content so remarkable that their readers would brave a raving pack of zombie chickens just to be able to read their inspiring words. As a recipient of this world-renowned award, you now have the task of passing it on to at least 5 other worthy bloggers. Do not risk the wrath of the zombie chickens by choosing unwisely or not choosing at all…”

Because I do certainly don't want to invoke the wrath of zombie chickens, I will send this award on to five of the many blogs I read and love:

1. Table Talk
2. The Debutante Ball
3. Beth Fish Reads
4. Book, Line, and Sinker
5. kiss a cloud

Not exactly an award per se, but something lovely so I'm going to mention it anyway. J. Kaye of J. Kaye's Book Blog hosts an event called A Book Blogger's New Discovery where she highlights new to her blogs that she hopes others will discover, visit, and enjoy as she has. Others have taken this most charming of ideas and run with it and Tami of Misc. Ramblings mentioned me as one of her "great new to me book blogs" back in May. And Jennifer of Celebrate Life With Bargains included me in her "top 5 picks." Rebecca of Lost in Books highlighted a lot of new to her and little-known blogs at the beginning of September. I'm one of them. (Wonder if I'm new to her or little known? ::grin::) It's so wonderful to hear that people enjoy their time here.

I have had to disable the anonymous comment option to cut down on the spam and I apologize to those of you for whom this makes commenting a chore. I hope you'll still opt to leave me your thoughts. I love to hear what you think, especially so I know I'm not just whistling into the wind here at my computer.
