Sick and Twisted

Ok, maybe I have been replaced by aliens, as my hubby has suspected since I signed up for the marathon. I actually hauled my rear out of bed at 4am this morning to get my run in (a mere 2 miles so not longer than 15 minutes or so) before I headed to the airport to fly down to Charlotte to look for houses. I hate mornings. I love sleeping. What the H*#% was I thinking?! Now I'm exhausted and I haven't even started the house hunt. Should make me more charming (HA!) than usual for such an unpleasant task (did I mention I loathe house hunting?). Oh, and I have to say, while running so early is peaceful, it is also more than a little creepy. It's quite dark and noisy with unidentifiable noises. And it made me really sweat when I saw a car in the middle of the road with its lights on but not moving. I won't share the scary movie I had running through my head but suffice it to say I breathed a huge sigh of relief to discover it was the paper delivery guy restocking his front seat! I don't think I'll be doing any more unaccompanied after dark runs--especially because, even scared, I was too boneheaded to get out of the street and up on the sidewalk away from the car. Clearly my brain is non-functional at o'dark hundred.

  1. Maybe the running is honing your instincts and your gut told you the car was safe despite your imagination.

That means you must use your gut to evaluate the houses. Ignore everything your mind tells you. Of course, you'll probably just buy the house with the biggest pantry, if your gut is anything like mine.

  2. Unfortunately it's not the pantry that will determine the house (they are all small and unusable from what I saw--spoiled baby that I am), it's the presence of potential storage out of the heat and humidity that is going to determine it since I can't have a basement. ::pout pout::

I love to hear what you think, especially so I know I'm not just whistling into the wind here at my computer.
