Sunday Salon: February in the rear view mirror

So far I've managed to write all of one review (definitely falling behind on the Read and Review Challenge, aren't I?!) for February but today might be catch-up day for me. We'll see. In any case, this month started off slowly (I wanted to finish War and Peace since I started it before the first of the year) but once I finally put the behemouth to bed, my reading picked up steam (housework suffered, but we can't have everything now can we?). Here's what I read in February:

The Lost Duke of Wyndham by Julia Quinn
Jim the Boy by Tony Earley
Fork It Over by Alan Richman
The Tale of Despereaux by Kate DiCamillo
Bunnicula by Deborah and James Howe
Slam by Nick Hornby
The Old Forest and Other Stories by Peter Taylor

Four of these books were review books and I did thoroughly enjoy reading three of the four. The fourth wasn't bad, just a little flat, but that'll be obvious once I get the review written. As for the rest of the stuff following W&P, it all seemed so easy. Not that this has anything to do with the fact that 2 of them were children's books, 1 was a YA book, and 1 was a romance, all of which would have been easy reading at the best of times. But my brain definitely needed a break from the hard work and so I obliged. Maybe now I can go back to reading grown-up stuff--or maybe not cause I've got to say, kiddie lit is fun!
